Motrac Industries and Marotechniek join forces
Motrac Industries and Marotechniek join forces in drive and control systems
Motrac Industries Holding, part of the Anders Invest Industry Fund, has acquired a minority stake in Marotechniek, based in Zutphen. This will expand into a majority stake by January 1, 2028. Both companies will continue to operate independently, retaining their own names and management teams.
Marotechniek manufactures winches, underwater motors, electrical control systems, and automation solutions for maritime and industrial applications; it employs 22 people and generates a turnover of 11 million euros. Motrac Industries specializes in hydraulic and electric drive systems for the mobile, agricultural, industrial, and maritime sectors. It has locations in Zutphen, Papendrecht, and Willich (Germany), employs 112 people, and has a turnover of 35 million euros. Both companies are located in close proximity to one another in Zutphen.
Complementary expertise
Motrac Industries excels in hydraulic and electric drive systems, while Marotechniek specializes in control technology, winches, underwater motors, frequency drives, and industrial automation. Together, the companies are better positioned to take on larger projects and increase investment in innovation—such as electrification and drive systems for maritime and stationary installations.
The two companies also complement each other in terms of the brands they represent. Since 1959, Motrac Industries has been a distributor for LHY Powertrain (formerly Linde Hydraulics) and also carries brands including Bucher, Argo Hytos, IMAV, and Aradex. Marotechniek works with partners such as Emotron, SKN, ISG, RR, Kolmer, and Randax.
“Marotechniek has an excellent reputation, particularly within the maritime market,” says Maarten Vinkesteijn, Director of Motrac Industries. “Combined with our drive technology, this makes us a more comprehensive partner for our clients. Our slogan is ‘Powered by Experts’—but from now on, that’s true squared.”
In practical terms, little will change for clients. They will retain their familiar points of contact and existing agreements.
Securing the future
Rob Molenaar and Martin Bossenbroek will continue to lead Marotechniek as Managing Directors. Operations Manager Martijn Pietersen is joining the management team, becoming a co-shareholder, and is the designated future director. At Motrac Industries, the management team remains unchanged.
“Over the past twenty years or so, we have built a company that clients worldwide rely on,” say Rob Molenaar and Martin Bossenbroek. “This step secures the future, with people who truly know the business. We gain additional expertise, capacity, and investment potential to support further growth. And the great thing is that the cultures of both companies align perfectly.”
