Matthijs (1982) has a technical business and mechanical engineering background. He started his career at Ned-Deck Marine from where he founded subsidiary Fast RSQ in 2009; a producer of resque and work boats (later Palfinger Boats). As an entrepreneur, Matthijs, together with his team, has set up a complete product portfolio with a large international sales network and production facilities in Vietnam and Harderwijk. In 2016 he sold his shares and remained a director at Palfinger Marine for 2 more years, where he was responsible for the integration of various subsidiaries.
After this, he founded the company Rhinox, a manufacturer of crawler lifts, together with Gert-Jan Verhoef. They sold a majority stake in Rhinox in early 2021.
Matthijs is investment manager for a number of portfolio companies.
